I haven't had these stamps for long but for me they are a thing of beauty. I love anything NASA related, and closely follow all the new advancements in technology which will result in deeper space exploration in the future.
These stamps were issued in 1989 marking the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing which included Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins.

The first pair of stamps represent the Solomon Islands and the Seychelles.

The Solomon Islands
These islands represent a cluster of small islands located in the central south Pacific Ocean, north east of New Zealand. The stamp displayed the beauty of the moon in an orange glow almost like an aura.

The Seychelles
This island is located within the north west Indian Ocean, on the east coast of Kenya and north of Madagascar. The stamp ironically catches Neil Armstrong quote his famous speech 'that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind' as he exited the lunar excursion model (LEM).

These stamps represent the Ascension Island and the notorious Bahamas.

The Ascension Island
This island is located within the south Atlantic Ocean sandwiched between the Brazilian coast of South America and west African coast of Equatorial Guinea. The stamps represents the trajectory (rather questionable, don't you think?) that the Apollo 11 crew endured throughout their mission.

The Bahamas
The Bahamas are located in the Atlantic Ocean north of Cuba. This stamp illustrates Buzz and Neil under go many experiments and collecting samples to take back to earth for analysis.

Zil Elwannyen Sesel
The Seychelles
This island is just one of the many islands within the Seychelles. The stamp shows the retrieval of the Apollo 11 crew following a splash down landing.

Kiribati
This island is just one of 33 islands that make up an area known as Micronesia located in the central Pacific Ocean. The stamp shows the lunar command module with the glow of the orange moon before them.

Nevis
This is an island which sits within the chain of islands in the Caribbean, and has a neighbouring island called St Kitts. The stamps shows one of the astronauts carrying out experiments.

Liberia
This is a small state located in Africa. Liberia is boarded by Sierra Leone, Guinea and Cote de 'Ivoire. The stamp displays the the LEM which is sitting proudly on the moon.

Belize
This little state in located in central America boarded by southern Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. This stamp illustrates the command model standing upright for all to see.

Samoa
This island sits in the central south Pacific, west of Australia. The stamps highlights one of the astronauts taking a moment, as he stands by the American flag.

Vanuatu
Situated south of Samoa, this tiny island also sits in the central south Pacific. The stamp show the damage done to the capsule upon re-entering Earths atmosphere. Rescuers work quickly to ensure the safety of the three hero's who did what no-one else had done before.
I really enjoyed my time working with these stamps and the research I undertook.
I would love to hear from you, or see your favourite stamp or stamps.
Thank you for your interest, I appreciate it very much.
